Write To Me

Sister Zoë Hart

A tribute to dad....and some other jazz.

Hey family!

Oh how I love you and thought of you often throughout this special weekend of celebration. It was weird- sis wills said I was in the MTC a year ago to the day, and all I could think of was how I was sitting in the jewbaru a year ago driving to sundance with the good ole DaddyO in tears thinking of how much I would miss just being in his presence. (Xan and Cec - know what I mean?) Dad you have made such a lasting impression and influence in my life, and the lives of all those with whom you come in contact with. Seriously. Some of my most cherished memories are of late night canyon drives with you daddy. The windows rolled down to keep you awake with the sound of the canyon flooding our ears. In retrospect, it feels as if time stopped and we just cruised on. It's moments like those that I loved, not because of words that were said, or things that were done, but because of the time that was spent. I love you dad! Hope you had a happy Father's Day.

Other news. Sis wills and I have built quite a relationship with some of the members, especially the Budge's. Brother and sister budge are the best! They love to do missionary work! They served their missions in France. I think I mentioned that.

Any who. Bro Pascal Budge has been everywhere for work- including Haiti! This week they invited our gator Ursula and her member husband to come and have a lesson in their home. Oh my gosh, miracles happened. Last we met with U and hubby they had committed to pray for a date for baptism in which they had previously been a little timid about setting. Well after not being able to meet for a week because of scheduling conflicts we were real excited to hear, in person, how things regarding praying for a date were going. They said they had a date and it held special significance in their lives and wanted to keep it a secret until things started to get into place a little more. Oh my gosh! So cool. Then we taught alongside the budges about the ten commandments and keeping the sabbath day holy. I say alongside because we debriefed the budges and they taught for the most part while we simply testified. It was amazing. The spirit was so strong! I am so grateful for the wonderful opportunity that it is to share my testimony with those around me. Truly faith building. If you haven't done it in a while, I would invite you to share your testimony, if not in sacrament meeting, share it with someone who you care about. Not only will you be blessed but the hearts of those with whom you are speaking will soften and the spirit will testify to that person of the things They need to hear. #spiritualthrowup #sorrynotsorry ANYWAY. So a lot of other miracles happened obvi but that was the big kahuna. #callmegidg but seriously call me gidg cause we are going to RON JONS TODAY! AHHH! Basically. I am so excited. It's ridiculous! If you want a shirt or shoes or a keychain or a sticker speak now or forever hold your peace. (Not piece but peace. Like calm.)

Oh yesterday sis wills and I were looking at the fact that we didn't have a dinner and sis budge told us we could come over. HOW COULD WE SAY NO?! We love them. So we went over for dinner. Let me try to give you a visual. They are like the Heaps. Bro budge is goofy but loving and just an awesome guy who has had so many spiritual and rad opportunities in his life. And sis budge is more reserved but still great once you get her talking. They remind me so much of the heaps and of dad it's crazy! So bro budge was telling us all about Haiti. Dad you've gotta send me a list of all the cities you served in, he worked in all of them while on a U.N. Mission. He wants to talk about it.

Uhm, what else. Oh we love homeless people but that's classic down here in Florida. Beach bums EVERYWHERE. they all say they live in Sandominiums(like condominium but not because they just sleep on the beach) haha. Anyway. Well. That's all I've got for you today. Thanks for the package! It was really needed and is much appreciated. Cec I am mailing a letter for you today. Xan and Thomas, how is NC? Bro how is your swim tan? Mum are you still the dancing queen of the grove?#diva4lyfe. Oh I want to ask a favor of you - instead of praying for my investigators, PRAY FOR YOUR OWN MISSIONARY OPPORTUNITIES. The Lord knows His children who are ready and will put them in your path if you will act. Let Him trust you. Let me know of miracles you see. Because miracles happen when we believe.

Wellp. I love you. I love the work. And most importantly, I love The Lord. I'm grateful for Him and all He has done for me.

xoxo

Love You

THIS WEEK WAS COOL. okay so how did you hear about the whole - sprinkler prayer thing. that was hilarious. and crazy. (for those that dont know our first week together we went tracting and said a prayer with this man fixing his sprinklers...i offered the prayer and sure enough 1/2 way through the sprinklers nailed us. i didnt stop praying. sis wills was laughing so bad though. i pulled through. then as i was about to close it HIT US AGAIN! we were soaked. and we all laughed. the guy just walked away laughing saying thanks and we are the best...it was so funny. i shouldve stopped. it was hilarious.) okay but here is the stitch for reals. we met with charles.. our black "paul" obsessed gator. and he just told us how he doesnt feel there is a need for one true church and that he doesnt need to be baptized again. he jsut wants the priesthood so he can have his own congregation and begin to be a foot soldier and preach to people about the bible and the bom like paul did minus the bom. so we dropped him. really it was a mutual dropping. sad for sis wills cause she has worked really hard with him. but we had the faith to move forward so we are moving forward. we are already seeing murrrricles. OH at the beginning of the lesson with Charles apparently he has a routine that he plays a gospel song before the lesson. usually they are mild and quite delightful says sis wills. BUT THIS TIME> OHMYEYE GOOOOSHHHHE I WAS DYING. literally. it was this baptist-y yelling and shouting to organ chords in the back. OH MY it was so funny. i was trying to hold in my laughter but had to literally hold my mouth close and just started shaking and bawling from how hard i was laughing. then later talking to our WML about it - he and his wife were there. LOVE THEM - he said that he couldnt even look at me vbecause it made him laugh just seeing me. goodtimes. haha. then this week we went to town just meeting all of our members. well trying to. we had a day full of just back to back appts. it was crazy. we didnt even get to eat lunch....not a good call on our part. we both get headaches and migraines. sis wills gets them waaaaay more than i have on the mission and so that was poor planning on our part. BUT none the less it was miracles that we saw because of our diligence. wow it was cool to be that busy. i would love to have that many appointments in a day to non members. but by the rate we are going at we will definitely see that happen. okay also the cocoa stake just got a new stake presidency and elder Teh came. so saturday night at the first of 2 sessions of stake conf(no longer adult sesh.) we sat front row with our AWESOME members Lauralyn and Pascal Budge(they served and met on their missions in france....sounds familiar...) so we sat by them and our bishop had to do this training thing and our WML told us he may call us up. cool. well he didnt. THEN elder teh got up. he told all 32 missionaries in the stake to stand. we did and he thanked us. then he said he would call a companionship up....yep he called sister wills and i up. AH. so fun. sis wills was dying but we did fine. he just asked us some random Qs and then finished by asking us what we would do for the members to get a referral...we replied in unison. ANYTHING! that whole evening and then on sunday our members kept telling our president how they loved us and want us to stay here and all this. Then he came up to us at the end of the sunday sesh and asked me what we were doing to the ward. THEY LOVE YOU. i just shrugged. not really sure. we are doing what you told us president. so thats cool. Oh also. we went to a fest in Cape Canaveral and got to talk to loads of people. we also got stopped by these two sisters who started a company called two mermaids and they grew up mormon but have since fell away and werent interested. but they had these awesome leggings. and sis wills and i may or may not have had to buy a matching pair. ah. $15.... it was worth it. maybe not but #noregrets sis wills and i have so much fun. i feel so bad when she gets headaches but now i know what everyone that ever has had to deal with me feels like. not fun. sorry. she is a champ though. it gives me a lot of ponder and study time. so i have really thought about things. mostly the Savior. This week I read a great talk called "Believing Christ." dad i put the reference in our notebook. I know that it is because of Christ THAT not only can i be better but despite my shortcomings and weaknesses i can return to live with my father in heaven. read it the talk. it puts everything into perspective. and it really helps mormons understand the fact that you dont just work your way to heaven. "believing christ" and "his grace is sufficient" READ THEM AND WEEP. literally. i know that my redeemer lives. he is here beside me every step of the way. i know the song "if the savior stood beside me" now. it has real meaning. He truly is always near me. i know it. i love you all. i love this work. i know i say that all the time but i truly do. thanks for everything that you do. stay classy san diego. xoxo your sister zoë

CAUSEWAAAAAAAIT!

OH MY GOSH! so this week was CRAZY!

so first things first. we had zone conference. obvi sis Williams and I had matching clothes already but the shirts were $7 in the lil' girls section of targe so we couldnt resist. we may have even asked our member to look up the Parent Trap handshake so we could do it for everyone. AHH! it was awesome! everyone loved it. literally. and so did we! Then we had loads of things planned this week that just seemed to fall through - or not go according to plan... ah the life of a missionary - BUT we pressed forward. We met with our investigators, Ursula and Charles, and found out a lot about how we can help them to progress. It was good. Also we biked from Merritt Island to Cape Canaveral....AND I HAD 2 flat TIRES on MY BIKE! no worries though. once we made it across the causeway we stopped at a rentabike place and they filled them up for freeeeeeeee. score! Then! we visited a RC up here who is now LESS ACTIVE. sad but apparently it happens a lot. so as we were coming back from that I wasnt paying as much attention as I couldve been. we were approaching a side street crossing - like neighborhood crossing perpendicular to a busy street and a green suburban was making a right turn and I may or may not have RAN INTO THE SUBURBAN! IT WAS CRAZY! but luckily i swerved and only burnt my pinky on the door - literally that was the only thing that happened. besides my shakes going crazy too. i didnt get hurt. I didnt even get off my bike. the poor kid driving felt horrible but i just hopped on the bike and apologized and went off to the next thing. well then we were contacting people on the way back to the causeway and this guy just yelled NOOOOOOO! NOOOOO! at us. cool random guy. haha. !

Okay but other than all that. this week was awesome! I love being comps with sis Williams we are seeing lots of miracles. she killed a lil frog with her bare hands but thats okay. i still love her. (the frog was as abig as my thumb nail.) !

Okay but seriously. at the approach of my year mark i have been pondering a lot about how i can truly become better. and looking at where i started and how i can continue to improve. My vision(long term goal) is set and i am working on setting goals and making plans to reach my vision. i know that with the Lord all things are possible and because of the atonement I CAN BE BETTER. I cannot tell you how many moments of peace I have felt as i have relied and felt the redeeming and enabling power of the atonement work in my life. it is truly amazing. BUT we have to let it work. it is our decision. !

I love this work. i am so grateful that i can be out here to represent our Savior and help others to come unto him and feel of His love the way that I feel it. okay so i may have showed this to you but watch it again. mostly the kid with the ipad. THATS WHAT TRUE REPENTANCE BRINGS. happiness! i love you all sooo much! thanks for all you do. !

happy summer xoxo sista zo
