suit and tie.

that song has been stuck in my head everytime i see people in suits and ties.
gah.

hey so historical moment this last weekend. any of yall apart of it? i sure was. "Hundreds of thousands of women, young women and girls 8 years old and above gathered around the world on Saturday, 29 March 2014, for the inaugural general women's meeting of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/church-hosts-inaugural-general-women%E2%80%99s-meeting

yeah so that was cool. not that i have anything against the auxiliaries and all the goodness that they bring but my favorite was Pres Eyrings talk. i just love men of the priesthood. #sogreat #loveit

okay so this week we had to do a lot. and i had a wee bit of a rough time. but with the rough stuff comes growth to make tough stuff. (great rhyme i know) so here's a recap.

our first exchanges were this week. and i loved it. it was great to be with the STLs and figure out how bad i am and commit to be better. then i got home...dundundun.... i just felt a little attacked about what i could do better...everything, so that was my rough patch BUT the LORD helped me through. first off i shouldnt feel attacked thats just me being prideful and pride never leads to good things( look in the BOM.. 2N28 and so many others talk about pride. if you havent read it read it, its a great read and brings blessings...#twobirdsonestone) so the lord showed me that 1 I am a proud person... okay probably couldve guessed that. then 2 that i needed to be humbled. so what did i have to do. GET OUT of my comfort zone. huge surprise i know. so i did all i could to study and pray and apply obedience and humility because with obedience comes a lot of other blessings so i thought it was good to sudy hand in hand. as i did so the lord blessed me. he blessed me with HOPE and showered me with tender mercies. one of which was speaking spanish. i dont know why i find so much joy in languages but i do and i met this great lady, diqnory, at a delicious arepa truck and got to invite her to talk to missionaries in kissimee where she lives. the lord looks out for us and when we heed his promptings and do his will HE BLESSES US. what a novel thing it would be if everyone would follow this pattern. you should all try to heed the promptings you receive from the spirit even if it feels like a thought because sometimes acting on those thoughts that you think are your own bring the most blessings to others. if youre unsure ask - is the result of my actiion good? then its of god!

also i had a great lightbulb monment while someone gave a great talk in my ward yesterday. it was their (the senior couple Garretts) farewell to the nauvoo mission and she said that the TEMPLE is the house of the lord and since it is his house and we are HIS children we should learn and grow inside of it! yet another novel idea. i would invite all of you to prepare and be worthy and enter into the temple to be uplifted enlightened and to learn and grow in the presence of our HIS spirit. what a blessing.

the other garrett spoke about life and the plan of salvation and mission s all relating to eachother. it was a great talk how missions and LIFE are like adventures - we plan and know what we want to accomplish and that it will be good and fun and there may be some ups and downs but for the most part it will be a great experience. (pre earth/ pre mish) Then after all our prep we begin and the adventure may not seem like all we thought it might. times may be harder than we imagined and it may get rough and we may forget our purpose and get dicouraged. but we must remember our purpose. with our purpose in mind we can accomplish what we set out to do in the first place. we can conclude our adventure with HAPPINESS> and thats exactly what i am going to do out here. okay then last thing. i love the senior couples. i would invite all of you to do that one day. they love me i love them. it is great. they keep the mission alive.

wellp hope you all have a q for conference. if not pray about one NOW. i love you. i cant believe bro blessed the sacrament. so cool! so proud! and those pics of billy bob, donny, and tru are the bomb! i love it! thanks for everything.

Zoobaleezoo

No one knows what Zoobaleezoo is but eyyyyyye deeeew(nacho libre voice)

Had a really good week.

So we had d pday at. The central Florida zoo...it was especially great because it was really raining as opposed to fake raining and so no one was at the Zoo...it was a zoo full a missionaries, SOO much fun. One member of our district drew us as Star Wars characters.... I'm shaakti... Out of request cause she's mah fav and because it's one of the only characters with red.... So yeah... Uh,. What else. Oh we found a butterfly while tracting...fun. And it matched sis Woolley even though she is afraid of them.. Haha

Oh I got a haircut today...,my ends were hideous so I cut them off and now it's short but oh we'll.. Any tips on how to make hair grow long? How often it should be cut etc?

We got a new gator... Chrystel. She called us this week freaking out saying she wanted us to come by. So we did and she just said how she realizes that her life is better when the church is in it... BINGO. was his name O. So we will be cracking down and teaching her again... Pretty stoked. A little worn down from the last time though... It's just rough because she promised so much and committed to so little.., and y'all know how hard it is for me when someone says they'll do something then bails.... Yeah so I'm a little more hesitant going in this time. But oh me of little faith. I need to work on being a doubting Thomas.... No offense to you Thomas, I'm referring to the biblical Thomas.

So other news. I've seen a. Armadillo. Ultra cute and weird. I like them. Never seen one roll up though so that's the new goal. Hey I've been thinking a lil about life after death( my life after the mission) and my life now and what I can do now to be better and then I read this great scripture in my studies(strictly biblical don't play around): : 1 Corinthians 9:24-26 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: http://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/1-cor/9?lang=eng

So yo diggity. I've gotta run this race. Win the mastery. Fight a good fight. And finish the mission! I am going to do all I can to make this great! Sometimes it gets rough mostly when others get discouraged about numbers and such... One blessing that The Lord has given me was little discouragement,., I think it's because of the other things that could have been occurring throughout my mission thus far that I have not really felt discouraged about things that most other missionaries are... At least in my mish. I am here to help people feel of the spirit and come unto Christ so they can rely on him just as I do. We have been teaching this rad LA who is a year older than us and is ultra chill and cool. She reminds me a lot of xan with a mix of Cec so teaching her is easily the highlight of my week #tenderbutnotsotendermercy #bigmercy she has started helping us with practicing our teaching because we don't have a solid teaching pool???I'd call it a small puddle, if that. So yesterday she just asked Qs that people might have and one was what makes us think that we, teenage girls who haven't experienced life, can council people to do things? Like what qualifies us?... Woolley and I sat there thinking of scriptures and things we could share...and she then looked to me to answer... I didn't know what to say... All I was thinking was, well the only qualification is being worthy and a testimony that's it. Then the thought ran through my mind:

THE LORD DOESNT CALL THE QUALIFIED HE QUALIFIES THE CALLED

So I thought and prayed of how I could RELAY this answer...Then it just came(not in the exact words but close I hope)... We are here to help others come unto Christ to feel of the love and happiness that we do. We know we can receive this from reading the BOM and praying to know of its truth. It's with this knowledge that led us to be on a mission, to help others do the same. The Lord doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. If you are meant to do something good in your life, The Lord is going to qualify you to do it. No matter what that is. Sometimes it's to become a dr or teacher or whatever, The Lord will qualify you to do that. You have to do your part but he will help if you're willing to do it. What we put in determines what will come out. If we have faith in Christ and act to accomplish the good goals in our life(righteous desires of our heart) then He will help get us there. I always read through my patriarchal blessing and reflect on the day I received it and the amazing feeling it was to know that this could help me identify some good goals and to find ways to work towards them so He can qualify me for the divine greatness and potential I have in store. Sometimes I wish I could study other peoples blessings so I could be like-" this is how great you are and these are the wonderful things you can do and you can achieve if you use your gifts and talents and act!" But for now mine will have to be enough. This church is so true it's unreal. Pray and find out for yourself if you haven't already. It is. I love this work and I'm so grateful I can show my love for The Lord and his plan by serving his children and doing all, I can to receive the mastery and finish the mission proud. I love and miss you loads. Keep up the greatness. Love the envelopes and updates.

You're the best

Xoxo

9.6.38.weeoweeoweeo! merrrrracles.

so cool this week was GREAT!

FOR STARTERS! THANKS FOR THE PACKAGES! seriously that was the only mail WE got all week! the KATE shirts are great. and the gorilla pod and sd card are being put to use! so marvelous!

i am not what to do with my other sd card. I will probs send the old camera to yall with a mums day package here in a lil bit. but thats in the future. so other thing

WHAT BRODY IS DRIVING! SHUT UP! THATS CRAZY! ahhh! he looks so old! gah! where has the time gone! ahh! so weird! ahh! but i love it! any dates lined up yet? wish i was there to double with him sometime! haha. once i am home.. itll be cool. all the kids love college kids out here... even if we are really missionaries. haha.

okay so the week started off awesome! we had some great dinners at the bates, Snyders, and the hansens! LOVE them all so much! the bates fed us buttermilk pancakes with real maple syrup - reminisced about home for a bit - the snyders made dominican food because theyve all lived there! YUM! platanos for dayz! delicious! and the hansens we had tacos and it was just hilarious because those kids are just great! gah the wards out here are simply amazing. filled with such strong members who magnify their callings and truly try their best to bring others closer to Christ through the restored gospel! I love LONGWOOD. (i would hope that i do because i have been here for 4.5 months already and still have 2.5 to go.)

okay so the beginning of this week we did crazy work to find and teach ANYONE. BUt to no avail. LITERALLY every person we tried was busy, so one night at like 8 I was like, lets try one more less active. so we drive down their street and no one is in their driveway(clear sign no one is home, because NO oNE ever uses a garage for cars) so we drive a little farther and realize a car just pulled in so we loop around and make sure and then pull up to the house(a little stalkerish but we are missionaries thats what we do) so we knock and NO ONE answers GAH! we just saw you walk in OPEN THE DOOOR. but they didnt so we left... we are driving away and after wuite a bit of time WE GET PULLED OVER. as if the night couldnt get any worse.. so i give the officer my license, and he is like "were you just at a friends house knocking on their door?" yes that was us, we are missionaries from their church, the chuhdsihfadjflatterasdft(fill in with title - sometimes it sounds slurred like that...working on it) and he is like okay well let me just check.. so we are waiting patiently and this other mean officer comes and yells "WHO WERE YOU VISITING?!" we are like ah the grows and he walked away. THen the nice guy came back and was like okay you're good, some neighbor just thought you were creepin, and i had to make sure you werent like a mass axe murderer or something... WHAT! haha! it was honestly hilarious. WE WOULD GET PULLED OVER FOR CREEPIN ON PEOPLE... missionaries the ultimate stalkers... literally.

anyway also this week we saw some MERRIACCLES in merica. so we did a district fast for two new gators and WE GOT THEM! this guy named ray whose old and cool, and this other guy named scott who is interested in the Plan of Salvation! it was awesome because both were unplanned back ups to some potentials that we thought were real good but ended up not working aout and this is what became of them! awesome! so exciting. especially because on tuesday night we had to DROP Chrystel.... it was rough only because she told us that church really wasnt her priority right then so we said we couldnt come by... too bad. but she will be baptized for sure, maybe not in the next few weeks but soon.

i am so grateful for the power of prayer and the scriptures. it is when we pray we can feel of our Heavenly Father's and Christs love for us, and then as we read we can receive answers to those prayers. I was reading the CES devo in 2011 by L tom Perry that talks about being the Greatest Generation. It is through the trials we have and the way we face them that each of can be apart of the greatest generation. i love the things you can learn from the prophets and apostles of the church. They are inspired men and if we abide by their teachings we will be blessed! i know it! i love this work! ( have i told you that enough times yet?) haha. but seriously. i have 9 months, 6 transfers, and 38 more weeks to make this count. Time to crack down and get to work. THanks for the love and supprt. i love you and miss you dearly.

when i die and they lay me to rest im gonna go to the place thats the best

yep im going back up to the spirit in sky cause ive got a friend in jesus. jesus is a friend of mine. Gods doing a new thang.

all of which are songs that my trainee and i have shared a mutual love for. the best.

well this week has been good. lots of good times. TOO much laughing with sister woolley and i it is just ridiculous! OOH cool story hansel:

so we contacted(introduced ourselves and message, and invited to do something) 100 people the other day ALONE! it was awesome! so the APs asked us to take a shift at the Apopka fair at our booth. (id show you photos but conveniently my camera broke this week. another story) so we said yes. oh my! for some reason talking to people about church and missionary stuff can be nerve racking. its crazy. but it can all be made better with prayer, faith, and a whole lotta confidence(fakin it till you make it) CONFIDENCE is key in missionary work! confidence is key. serious i was a littlle nervous. BUT we went out and i had to start us all off and do the first few contacts alone so sister woolley could pick up on what to do then we switched off and like champs just went for GOLD. we talked to some really rad people and even taught this kid an on the spot restoration lesson! it was so sick! I am so grateful for awesome experiences like that! the church is true cause if it wasnt i wouldnt have been able to do all that. and all this! word on the street is there was a funeral on the HART/Marriott side. Riley Hales was there and dad said hi and my pseudo grandpa Dick M and Best friend Megs Berthas fam. i am writing her back today and will just have to tell her you all saw each other.

other word is that liza stratt had to go home. tell her i give her my love. that cannot be an easy thing at all!

well i love you all so much. this is just so fun. can you believe it is conference again. so exciting! weird that there are only two more in my mission. ahh!

so this week i have been reading out of ROMANS and my favorite verse was in there. Romans 1:16 FOR I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST

thats all i can think about when i am doing the work. I AM NOT ASHAMED OF IT! i love it. and that is why i share it. i am glad i can be here to do it in ORLANDO!

xoxo

BYU. Drops. Foodtrucks. 9

Well well well.

I'm training. You already knew that. But cool story hansel: So on Sunday before in got my trainee, I was praying about it and just had this feeling that I would know her. For me that was ultra comforting because it brings comfort and blessings come with familiarity. So I went to the trainers meeting early Tuesday morning and was welcomed by hermana monson and Jackson both training new Spanish sisters. After our long meeting the we left the room and the greenies went in. Then we met them. I saw one who looked familiar from byu but nothing like friends so I just waited till I saw their faces, I was making thee previous judgements from the back of their heads.... Yeah that's me. Ultra creep. Anyway so finally this one turns around and we were like Hey we know each other. Your friends with Connor Townsend and I had you dance in the music video I made with kk and ash T at the beginning of the semester. Yes we know each other. Hannah Woolley is from draper Utah and went to byu and dated a mutual friend. Well is still in the relationship with him while they are on their missions... She is great and I was soo happy. Gah it was the bomb.

And this week has been GREAT, lots of praying but great. The Lord has given me so much strength and confidence to teach this sister to do the work right. It's all him. Seriously. Every night I'm like thanks for keeping it going today cause if it wasn't for you I probably wouldn't have talked to that guy that took the card or the woman who needed a hand. Small blessings and large miracle can come from humbling ourselves and allowing The Lord to use us as instruments in his hands. I know that to be true. So for the work it has been rough because we dropped two gators this week. One was an old woman who just didn't want to be converted and the other was a lady we met on Wednesday and then went back Saturday to find out she is ultra solid in her church and not willing to change... Rough for sister Woolley. I am just trying to make this work as great as it can be because she is so on fire from the MTC and is starting to realize that the work isn't just teaching every hour of the day. So we always make the work fun... My favorite thing! The best was Saturday at the food trucks because we got to have fish tacos and just enjoy the company of others in this crazy state we live in. Also I was congratulating a member of our ward, Megan courchaine on getting into byu and then she was like oh I'll see there winter semester... I couldn't believe that. Too soon.

Ahhhh. Crazy, 9 months has FLOWN BY! Next transfer I get talk see your faces again. Weird. I feel like I just saw you. Not in a bad way but for reals. Crazy. Where does the time go. So how is everything. Florida weather is getting warmer. Great....

Well this week I sure am grateful for prayer and the answers we can receive from our father in heaven especially as we account for what we have done to act and build his trust to receive those answers and blessings. The church is true. I love the work. I'm grateful I can be here. I love you all too much! Thanks for the envelope and photos mum and dad and the letter bro I'll write back ASAP.

Lots of love. Tsi chin (phonetically means bye in mandarin...I'm learning it from Megan)
